Once again, start my blog with "Wow." The outpouring of emails, calls, etc. has been, well, "believable." It is very typical and I am not shocked at all to hear from the many people who love and care about Frieda Hudson.
I have conveyed the messages and well-wishes to the family and they are so grateful.
Frieda remains basically the same. Nancy and I went to Wal-Mart and picked up an IPod player...so she can hear HER songs. She'll appreicate that. The strains of Pachebel's Canon in D sound so beautiful coming from her room. That said, I know there will be James Taylor, Bonnie Raitt and others to chime in shortly. Frieda has a wonderful and varied taste in music.
Last night was a long night. Marah, my daughter, came and I think it was good for her and for Nancy too. They visited talked and comforted each other. Nancy has plenty of coloring books and crayons in the waiting room and it was comforting for me to watch "our girls" coloring "Strawberry Shortcake" pictures, and the like...just like when they would have been 3 or 4!
I basically didn't sleep. I wrestled with God, bargained with Him, asked forgiveness for doing those things and then started it all over again. I guess those are the things we do when we are at a loss. The feeling of "helplessness" is so hard. I am a "do-er." I want to feel proactive and I want to "do" something, but waiting is all we can do. That's the tough part.
Didn't the paper look great? "Young" Nancy posted a copy of the article written about Frieda on her door, at a nurse's suggestion. We have put up cards, etc. and tried to have things around Frieda that emanate "good energy" and healing energy.
I will post more later today, but that's what we have for now. Continue to pray, please and know the family is so appreciative of all the support and love.
KEEP FIGHTING FRIEDA!! WE ARE STILL HERE!!!
As the sedation is lessened, I will keep you informed as to how she progresses.
Many, many thanks and so much love to all.
